Access and Participation Plan
Access and Participation Statement
We understand the importance of widening participation and outreach in improving access and student outcomes in Higher Education.
We believe that everyone with the potential to benefit from education should have equal opportunity to do so, and be encouraged to access education and be supported to succeed. At Askham Bryan College and University Centre we aim to widen participation in higher education to ensure a diverse range of students and graduates can enjoy the best possible outcomes. We are committed to widening participation, and our primary aim is to encourage, support and enable students from under-represented groups to participate in a fulfilling educational experience.
We will continue our work to improve the rates of access, attainment and progression amongst our target groups where participation in higher education is low. The success of this work will depend on our continued partnerships and collaborations with local communities schools, colleges, local authorities, other universities and charitable organisations.
Review of this Statement
We review and republish this Access and Participation statement as part of our annual policy and procedure reviews (as required by condition A2 of the Office for Students Regulatory Framework). Last updated: 21st March 2023
