Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs

at grade 4 or above, to include English, Maths and Science. Alternatively a suitable Level 2 vocational qualification (Merit or above) with English, Maths and Science at Level 2. To qualify for a T Level programme, you must be 16-18 years old on or before August 31st of the year you enrol.

Employer Set Project:

The employer-set project ensures students have the opportunity to combine core knowledge and skills to develop a substantial piece of work in response to an employer set brief. The employer-set project forms part of the Technical Qualification and is a separate part of the T Level programme to the Industry Placement.

Specialist Content

Livestock Production Pathway

  • Establish conditions for animal breeding
  • Rear livestock from birth to production standard
  • Optimise livestock production
  • Maintain areas surrounding the livestock production environment

Crop Production Pathway

  • Establish crops in field and container-based systems for optimum yield and quality.
  • Manage crops in field and container- based systems to optimise yield and quality.
  • Harvest crops for commercial markets.
  • Maintain the areas surrounding the crop production environment.

 

Assessment is undertaken via a range of assessment methods including assignments, employer and external-based assignments and exams.

 

GCSEs at grade 4 or above, to include English, Maths and Science. Alternatively a suitable Level 2 vocational qualification (Merit or above) with English, Maths and Science at Level 2.

To qualify for a T Level programme, you must be 16-18 years old on or before August 31st of the year you enrol.

If you do not yet meet the full entry requirements for the T Level programme, you may be offered an alternative pathway that includes an additional foundation year to help you gain the necessary skills and knowledge.

Upon successful completion of this course, students may progress on to a Foundation or Bsc (Hons) Degree in agricultural management qualifications.

Students may also go into industry related employment.

T Level Benefits:

Progression and Development Sessions

All students enrolled on a Level 2 or Level 3 course will be required to attend Progression and Development sessions every week. These sessions will cover a wide range of topics from careers and employability, British Values and equality and diversity to essential life skills such as mental health and wellbeing, drugs and alcohol and personal safety.

 

 

 

Students are to undertake an industry placement that will span 315-420 hours with a minimum of 45-60 days.

 

 

Students are encouraged to find their own work experience in a role that they are interested in. The work experience co-ordinators are on hand to help you with finding a work placement.

 

Students are expected to buy PPE, consisting of overalls and steel toe capped boots for practical sessions. A normal range of stationery is required for theory sessions.

 

 

 

Trip costs are kept to a minimum wherever possible, trip information will be provided at the start of the course.

  • Why have T Levels been developed?

    T Levels were established to strengthen the technical education system in England and give young people the knowledge and skills that employers look for.

    Combining theoretical knowledge with experience in the real world of work, T Levels give students a head start in their future, whether that’s employment, a higher apprenticeship or further education.

  • How T Levels have been developed

    T Levels were developed following recommendations from the Independent Panel on Technical Education, which aimed to streamline technical education and provide a new high-quality technical option for students aged 16 to 19.

    Employers and providers have worked together to develop each T Level, and groups of employers have defined the skills and requirements for each course.

    This ensures that T Level students will develop the technical knowledge and skills required by employers in that industry.

  • How T Levels compare to apprenticeships

    T Levels are different from apprenticeships, but based on the same standards.

    Apprenticeships are typically 80% on-the-job and 20% in the classroom, and are more suited to those who are ready to enter the workforce at age 16.

    T Levels involve more classroom study than apprenticeships and prepare students for work, further training or further study.

  • Options after T Levels

    T Levels equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need for a successful future.

    In 2022, 71% of students who applied to university secured a place, while other T Level graduates moved into employment and higher apprenticeships.
