Course at a glance

This is a 3-hour evening class offered from 6-9pm weekly commencing Wednesday 1 March 2023 by our award-winning floristry team within our horticulture department in York. The course covers a wide range of floristry techniques including hand tied designs, floral and seasonal arrangements. This course will also be coming soon to our Middlesbrough Centre.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs

4 GCSEs at grade 4 (old Grade C) or above including Maths and English with Art also desirable.

Key Information

You will cover a mixture of theory and practical activities which you will collate as evidence to produce a portfolio throughout the course of the skills you are gaining.

On completion of this qualification you could progress on to City & Guilds Level 2 Technical Certificate in Floristry full or part time.

Alternatively a suitable Level 2 vocational qualification (Merit or above) with English, Maths and Science at Level 2.

Students work experience has led to jobs within retail flower shops, event floristry, flower farming, hotel and wedding co-ordinating and many have set up their own business
